A beautiful day turned into a rain out as rock group Nantucket and special guests Machine Gun prepared to perform at Clayton's Town Square last night. Downtown Development Coordinator Bruce Naegelen expressed disappointment as the light rain, which began around 5 pm, just never stopped, "As the cliche goes, 'you can plan for a lot of things, but not the weather." About a hundred people showed up with umbrellas, caps and coats hoping the rain would stop, but it never did. Naegelen said a date will be worked out to bring Nantucket back to Clayton sometime this summer. The next Town Square concert in the series is scheduled for May 17 with an act to be announced, and The Triangle Brass Band is scheduled for June 21.
