The Town of Clayton is building a sidewalk to the Civil War Trail marker which is located at the southwest corner of the Town Square along S O'Neil Street. The Clayton Historical Association installed the marker in August, 2008 which describes the area and circumstances of the surrender of Raleigh to Union General William Sherman.

Clayton Civil War Trails Marker Getting Walkway
