Downtown Clayton Gateway Sign Nearly Complete

You  may have noticed something happening as you turn onto E Main Street from US 70 Bus lately. The makings of a gateway sign for downtown Clayton is slowly coming into formation. The Downtown Development Association's Design Committee developed the final concept about six months ago

And following various testing to determine the best place to put the sign, construction began about 6 weeks ago with the footings, and then the columns

and then the sign frame:

and now the stone columns:

 

Some lighting will be installed, and then The Sign! The DDA and Town of Clayton will have an unveiling and everyone will be invited, so stay tuned!
